As a part of the AEG Live legal department for almost six years, Tom currently works in the Dallas area, managing contract administration for the entire Southern Region which includes the Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie, the Dallasbooking office, The Messina Group in Houston and two offices in Nashville.
Tom's office reviews, drafts and edits a steady stream of venue, artist, copromotion, sponsorship and vendor service agreements. This process involves verifying deal points with the bookers, enforcing each party's understanding of the deal and minimizing the company's exposure to liabilities.
Tom's fifteen years in the music business has been influenced by a wide range of opportunities early on. The job that opened the initial door for Tom was in 1992 at Sony Music, cataloging their master tape library while interning at Columbia Records marketing. Soon after, Tom was offered a job assisting A&R legend and producer Bobby Colomby.
While at Sony Music, Tom met the west coast booker for PACE Concerts and was offered a position as a booking assistant for Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion in San Bernadino, CA and Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ. The hands-on exposure to concerts was immediate and led to opportunities helping plan the first two OzzFests and a multitude of one-offs with the likes of Van Halen, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and R.E.M.
Citing the value of retaining good contacts and connections, the ensuing years would bring a variety of touring work courtesy of referrals from then Pace Touring President John Meglen. Around this time, Tom worked with Paul Gongaware on the 1997-1998 hugely successful Yanni tour. Within a week of returning from the Yanni tour, Tom joined the sold-out 1998 Andrea Bocelli tour as the co-tour manager traveling with the artist party and dealing with the day to day artist necessities.
Feeling the need to create a touring concert promotion company with a true independent spirit, John Meglen and Paul Gongaware launched the rebirth of Concerts West. Shortly after Concerts West and Goldenvoice were acquired by AEG, the co-CEO's brought Tom to the company in 2002 to help build the contracts department. The company's growth and presence throughout the world has been exponential since.
In addition to Tom's duties at AEG Live, he created an artist management
company in 2007 which represents Ian Moore.
