TULSA, OKLA. - Dfest & FanCorps.com are recruiting street teamers to get the word out about Dfest 2008 and join the revolutionary online street team platform created by FanCorps.com
For energetic, fun-loving, and not afraid to flyer types, there are great opportunities to accrue points as a Dfest street teamer and get things like commemorative posters and tshirts all the way up to the coveted VIP passes to attend the festival and get VIP access, elbow rubbing with some of the really cool headliners playing at Dfest 2008.
Dfest humbly started in 2002 and its success is largely due in part to grass-roots efforts and word of mouth. Until 2007, Dfest never really had much of a budget for traditional media advertising, relying on media partnerships and loyal fans to get the word out that one of the coolest music conference & festivals is hosted right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today, the festival coordinators still believe that grass-roots and street teaming really is where its at in terms of getting the masses turned on to Dfest. The event in 2007 should be a prime example, with a miniscule marketing budget compared to most events like Dfest, a whopping 40,000 folks showed up to marvel at acts like Shiny Toy Guns, Leon Russell and The Flaming Lips, along with local favorites like Evangelicals, The Starlight Mints, RadioRadio, Stardeath & White Dwarfs, Citizen Mundi, and The Hero Factor.
This year, over 60,000 people are expected to show up - but just because Dfest has led a charmed existence, that doesn't mean that Dfest is going to rest on its laurels. Instead, Dfest feels an obligation to spread the word about the over 120 amazing emerging indie artists with over 20 genres being represented and the 20+ headliners sure to please the most discerning musical tastes. "We have a group of the hottest up-and-comers across the nation in genres and styles all over the place. After the last light goes out on early July 27, Sunday morning, every venue is going to claim they had the best lineup at their venue playing Dfest - and they're all going to be right." says, Tom Green, co-creator of Dfest. That's why Dfest is reaching out to you, the fans, the music lovers, the folks who want to get involved, to join the coolest street team ever. It's pretty easy to pass the word when what you're rallying behind is as cool as Dfest. Plus you can meet and connect with other music lovers who are just as excited as you are about the summer's hottest show in the midwest!
